This book spans one year, beginning with the day that Candace, the author's daughter was abducted, ending with the anniversary of that day. The story reveals the horror of the aftermath of a homicide, the goodwill of a supportive community and the life and coping journey of an average family. Wilma Derksen lost her daughter to murder in 1984, and later worked as Director of Victim's Voice, a National Canadian Program assisting people impacted by homicide.
